Malta Marittima Agency is proud to announce the launch of the "Blue Bio Technology Cluster". It was a very eventful meeting with the active participation of the maiun stakeholders comprising of academia, industry and government entities.

ECCP welcomed Malta Marittima on its platform, the 1st cluster from Malta: Malta Marittima Agency!

The European Cluster Collaboration Platform is a service facility aiming to provide cluster organisations with modern tools

These tools allow to:

  • make efficient use of networking instruments (search/find potential partners and  opportunities)
  • develop collaboration trans-nationally (within Europe) and internationally (beyond Europe)
  • support the emergence of new value chains through cross-sectorial cooperation
  • access the latest quality information on cluster development
  • improve their performance and increase their – as well as their members’ - competitiveness.

Malta Marittima Agency is pleased to announce the launching of the 'Logistics Cluster' working group. The working group was convened on the 24th January 2018 at Malta Marittima's newly set up premises in Blata l-Bajda. The stakeholders' participation was overwhelming and exceeded expectations and augurs well for the other working groups which will be set up in the coming months. The meeting was addressed by the Chairman of Malta Marittima, Dr. Daniel Aquilina and by the Chairman of the Working Group, Mr. Jason Bongailas. They both emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and partnership between the private and the public sector in line with the goals of the Agency. The objective behind these working groups consist in having the experts of both public and private domains sharing and discussing their views in an effort to challenge the staus quo and come up with smart, sustainable and innovative solutions. Malta Marittima invites Maritime Public & Private stakeholders to express their interest in participating on the working groups. The Malta Marittima Agency (MMA), in collaboration with the University of Malta, launched the Maritime Seed Award (MarSA), where a total of €100,000 will be allocated through a competitive call to innovators and entrepreneurs interested in bringing their ideas closer to commercialisation.

The announcement was made at a ceremony on 20  March, attended by Minister for Competitiveness and Digital, Maritime and Services Economy Emmanuel Mallia, the University of Malta Rector Professor Alfred J. Vella, Pro Rector Prof. Saviour Zammit, Director CEBI Prof. Russell Smith, Director KTO Dr Ing. Anton Bartolo, and Chairman of the Malta Marittima Agency Dr Daniel Aquilina - Malta Independent
